Champions Are Made in the Classroom

The CFP Foundation’s Great Teacher Nomination program celebrates educators nationwide

By Madyson Lesley

The College Football Playoff Foundation works year-round to recognize educators who make a lasting impact on their students and school communities. Through the CFP Foundation’s Great Teacher Nomination program, students, families, colleagues, and community members can spotlight teachers who have gone the extra mile to make a difference.

Over the past two years, more than 2,600 teachers nationwide have been nominated and celebrated through this initiative. Each week, selected teachers are featured on the CFP Foundation’s social media channels as part of a spotlight series and receive a $50 DonorsChoose gift card to fund classroom projects and supplies.

The program was also a highlight of Extra Yard for Teachers Week (September 13-20). As part of the week-long celebration, ESPN and its conference networks honored educators with special announcements and $1,000 prizes.

Nominations remain open year-round. To recognize a teacher who has made a meaningful difference in your life or community, visit https://cfp-foundation.org/great-teacher-nominate
