TOUCHDOWN FOR TEACHERS

The College Football Playoff Foundation and ESPN Citizenship support educators in communities across the country during each post-season game by donating $1,000 to teachers and coaches every time a touchdown is scored to use towards health, sports and fitness resources.

HOW IT WORKS

The college Bowl Games, which draw immense attention and enthusiasm, provide an ideal platform to raise awareness about the importance of education. In addition to the Bowl Season and CFP Foundation matching grant program, the CFP Foundation and ESPN donate an additional $1,000 to local teachers and coaches for every touchdown scored during every Bowl Game and College Football Playoff game during the postseason. Following each of the Bowl Games the funds are distributed directly to local teachers and coaches within that bowl game city footprint.

The funds generated through Touchdown for Teachers will directly benefit PK-12 educators in host cities, enabling them to access additional resources.

“Touchdown for Teachers has been one of the most rewarding initiatives we’ve been a part of during Bowl Season,” said Nick Carparelli, Executive Director of Coca-Cola Bowl Season. “Every touchdown represented more than points on a scoreboard—it translated directly into meaningful support for educators who go above and beyond for their students every day. Partnering with Extra Yard for Teachers has allowed Bowl Season to turn the excitement of college football into real classroom impact, and seeing teachers across the country empowered with much-needed resources is a powerful reminder of what this partnership stands for.”
