CFP Foundation Puts $4 Million Towards Las Vegas Classrooms Ahead of 2027 CFP National Championship

Ahead of the 2027 College Football Playoff (CFP) National Championship in Las Vegas, the CFP Foundation is already making a major impact in Southern Nevada classrooms, with a strong focus on literacy and ensuring every school across Clark County benefits from the Foundation’s work.

In partnership with the Clark County School District (CCSD), the CFP Foundation has launched Project RISE, which will provide educators with training through a specialized reading intervention program designed to support students facing learning obstacles and dyslexia. The initiative is expected to train over 1,000 teachers and positively impact more than 28,000 students across the district’s 374 schools.

Beyond literacy support, the CFP Foundation’s Extra Yard Makeover Project presented by School Specialty is investing more than $750,000 to transform 15 CCSD libraries and community spaces into innovative media centers. Additional efforts will include surprise recognition visits for educators across 50 schools, as well as expanded programming through the CFP Foundation’s Honored Schools initiative that empowers students to recognize teachers who make a positive impact on their lives.

“When college football invests in us, it is saying to me as a professional that they prioritize education,” said Jolie Kimmet of the Clark County School District. “It’s telling me that my job is worthwhile and it’s validating what we do every day.”

Together with the CFP 2027 Las Vegas Host Committee, the CFP Foundation will invest nearly $4 million in Southern Nevada education initiatives over the next two years to create a lasting legacy that extends far beyond CFP National Championship weekend.
