College Football Playoff Foundation to Support Clark County School District Teachers
COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF FOUNDATION TO PARTNER WITH LAS VEGAS CONVENTION AND VISITORS AUTHORITY TO SUPPORT TEACHERS ACROSS CLARK COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT
LAS VEGAS – The College Football Playoff (CFP) Foundation and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) announced today that the two organizations have come together to support teachers across Clark County School District (CCSD).
The partnership will focus on teacher retention across the Clark County School District, with an emphasis on classroom resources, teacher recognition, and professional development. As part of its sponsorship commitment as the host committee for the 2027 national championship game, the LVCVA will donate $1.5 million. The CFP Foundation and its partners will match that amount to create a total $3 million investment in CCSD with the goal of positively impacting every campus across the district. The CFP Foundation works in partnership with the respective local host committee to create legacy programs that benefit teachers in the area in advance of the national championship game, as well as making an impact on educators for years to come. The CFP National Championship is scheduled to be played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on January 25, 2027.
“We are excited to partner with our friends at LVCVA to drive impact and support educators across the Clark County School DIstrict,” said Britton Banowsky, executive director of the CFP Foundation. ”Although the 2027 national championship game is more than a year away, we are aligned and this is an amazing opportunity for us to make a difference in the lives of the district’s teachers and students across Clark County.”
The CFP Foundation has a long history of highly-impactful legacy investments in the communities that have hosted the College Football Playoff National Championship. Leading up to the national championship game in 2027, the CFP Foundation’s work in Clark County will consist of several programs, including ones focused on teacher recognition and recruitment, Extra Yard Makeovers to refurbish learning spaces, classroom resources and educator grants, and a provision for professional development for educators across the district.
“The College Football Playoff showcases Las Vegas on the national stage as a world-class sports destination, but its impact goes beyond the game,” said Steve Hill, president and CEO of the LVCVA. “This partnership with CFP will benefit the students and teachers of Clark County School District, and highlights how major events can leave a meaningful legacy and long-term impact on our community.”
“We at the Clark County School District are thrilled to have the support of the College Football Playoff Foundation and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority to help recognize our truly dedicated educators who make CCSD great,” said Clark County School District Superintendent Jhone Ebert. “With the support of community partners, we will transform into a Destination District where educators and students thrive."
